Your Privacy......Your Right Labrador-Grenfell Health understands that your health information is personal and that it must be protected. We are committed to keeping all personal information about you and your family confidential. The collection, use and disclosure (sharing) of your health information is governed by legislation and used to help us in your care and treatment. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone who is not directly involved in your care and treatment, unless you give permission. The only exception to this is when information must be shared as required by law (for example, when reporting infectious diseases). Your personal information should be accurate and will be stored securely within Labrador-Grenfell Health. We encourage you to know what is in your health record. We recognize your right to access your personal health information and have a copy provided for a nominal fee. We also encourage our clients to be aware of provincial legislation that exists in Newfoundland & Labrador. The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA) outlines the right to access information and introduces privacy regimes concerning personal information held by government and its agencies.
