2019 Novel Coronavirus Outbreak Update

On December 31, 2019, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, China issued a public statement that they had identified an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown cause. China has since determined that a novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is responsible for many of the cases of pneumonia in the Wuhan outbreak.

Western Health is working with the Department of Health and Community Services and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, who are monitoring the current situation, in partnership with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
