Mother’s Day gifts being accepted for patients and residents

Labrador -Grenfell Health recognizes that Mother’s Day is a very special day. Families usually spend the day visiting with their Mothers, bringing gifts and cards. To celebrate Mother’s Day, Labrador-Grenfell Health will be accepting some gifts to be passed along to patients and residents.

Gifts that will be accepted include:

  • Flowers
  • Cards
  • Clothing
  • Non-perishable food items – including items that have a long shelf-life and do not require refrigeration. Food items must be unopened sealed/ packaged.

 

Gifts that will not be accepted include:

  • Large and/ or heavy items
  • Perishable food items
  • Opened, unsealed food items
  • Flowers/ items with strong or allergy inducing scent (ex: Lillies and Baby’s Breath)

 

Please ensure all items are marked with name of patient/ resident and location for delivery. Please sanitize gifts by disinfecting the outside of the package prior to drop-off. To ensure that physical distancing requirements are met, please call the facility/ unit to arrange drop-off.

Labrador-Grenfell Health staff are contacting families to advise them of these temporary changes.

While visitation restrictions to our facilities have been in place since March 23, we continue to facilitate virtual and window visitations for our patients and residents.
