Temporary reduction of services at the Labrador South Health Centre

Public Notice – December 19, 2021

Labrador-Grenfell Health is advising the public that beginning December 20, at 8 am there will be a reduction in routine primary health care services at the Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau.  Routine laboratory and diagnostic imaging appointments set for December 20 will be cancelled and reschedule at a later date. All other routine appointments will be offered virtually.

During this time, residents may continue to access urgent and emergent care at the health centre.

A reminder that anyone experiencing even one symptom of COVID should arrange for testing by calling 8-1-1 or by completing an online assessment at https://covidassessment/nlchi.nl.ca  before presenting to a health facility.  

Please call 9-1-1 or proceed directly to the health centre for urgent care if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Severe difficulty breathing (e.g., struggling to breathe or speaking in single words)
  • Severe chest pain
  • Having a very hard time waking up
  • Feeling confused
  • Losing consciousness
