Expanded visitor restrictions to all sites and facilities

December 31, 2021

PUBLIC ADVISORY
Expanded visitor restrictions to all sites and facilities

Labrador-Grenfell Health has expanded visitor restrictions across all LGH facilities and sites. Effective immediately, all in-person visits are suspended until further notice to help protect patients, visitors, and health region employees.

Exceptions

    • Labour and delivery patients may have one support person attend labour and delivery. The support person can continue to support the patient for the duration of the time in hospital and there are no restrictions on the number of daily visits.
    • Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the care team.

Appointments and Emergency Department Visits
Labrador-Grenfell Health recognizes the benefits of having a support person attend ambulatory clinic appointments or emergency room visits. To help reduce the number of social contacts and potential exposure to COVID-19, Labrador-Grenfell Health respectfully asks patients who can safely manage their appointments or emergency visits without assistance or support to attend alone. If needed, your support person is welcome to attend with you.

COVID-19 Screening
Following provincial government and public health guidelines, anyone entering a Labrador-Grenfell Health facility will be screened for COVID-19 through a series of questions. Contact information will also be collected for contract tracing purposes.

Staying connected with family and friends as an in-patient or resident of a care facility is important for overall wellbeing. Please talk to your care team about virtual visitation.
