The health and safety of Labrador-Grenfell Health patients and staff continues to be our priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective March 28, 2020, Labrador-Grenfell Health is restricting access to one entryway only in the following facilities until further notice:

Entryway After 10:00 p.m.

Labrador West Health Centre

  • Emergency Department entrance
  • Emergency Department entrance

Labrador Health Centre

  • Emergency Department entrance

Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital

  • Main entrance (Rotunda)
  • Emergency Department entrance

Labrador-Grenfell Health will have screeners at these entryways between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. who will be asking questions and directing flow. Please respect social distancing measures, answer questions and follow instructions provided. After 10:00 p.m., the Emergency Department staff will be available to support you.

We encourage the public to call ahead before visiting our facilities, including visits to the Emergency Department.

These restrictions are necessary to ensure appropriate screening and safety measures are taken for the public and staff to limit the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID-19.

If you require an ambulance, please call 911 and ensure you advise of:

  • Travel history
  • If you had contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19
  • If you’re in self-isolation
  • If you have fever, cough or shortness of breath

To help reduce the spread of illness:

  • Wash your hands often.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid touching nose, eyes and mouth.
  • Stay at home if you are sick.
  • Keep a minimal distance of 2 metres between people (social distancing).

Please check our website regularly for updates on Labrador-Grenfell Health services including current restrictions in place at all our facilities. (www.lghealth.ca/latest-news)
