Public Advisory – March 27, 2020

The health and safety of Labrador-Grenfell Health patients and staff continues to be our priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, to limit public exposure to potential risk and to ensure urgent and emergent testing continues, Labrador-Grenfell Health is implementing appointment-based blood collection services beginning March 30, 2020.  Clients requiring blood work which is deemed urgent by their healthcare provider or patients for chemotherapy, transplant, therapeutic drug monitoring and INR monitoring can call the Laboratory Department in your area at the numbers below between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

When calling for an appointment, please ensure you have available: MCP card, physician name, telephone number and name.

Appointments for outpatient emergency bloodwork will be arranged by calling the laboratory or the receptionist at the numbers listed above.

To help reduce the spread of illness, please:

  • Wash your hands often.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid touching nose, eyes and mouth.
  •  Stay at home if you are sick.
  • Keep a minimal distance of 2 metres between people (social distancing).
