Labrador-Grenfell Health continues to increase capacity in Alert Level 2

Public Notice – June 25, 2020

Labrador-Grenfell Health is advising the public that health care services will continue to increase in Alert Level 2. Inpatient, outpatient and community-based services will continue to gradually increase capacity based on the following considerations:

  • Virtual care opportunities
  • Physical distancing requirements
  • Occupancy rates of facilities
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) availability
  • Screening and testing measures.

We continue to prioritize patient lists for scheduled procedures based on urgency. To assist with physical distancing measures, please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Certain procedures will require the patient to have a COVID-19 test completed and the results received prior to providing the service. These patients will be contacted up to 72 hours in advance to book their swab testing appointment. All patients admitted to hospital will require a COVID-19 test.

Patients who had received a requisition for blood work before March 16 are now able to make an appointment for blood work. Please call to make an appointment:

Patients with questions or concerns regarding their health or changes in their condition are advised to contact their health care provider, call Healthline 811 or proceed to the nearest emergency department if emergency services are needed.

Measures are in place to protect individuals when entering our facilities including designated entrances, COVID-19 screening, providing a mask to individuals upon entry, hand hygiene and physical distancing practices. Please do not visit if you are sick and please call ahead to book an appoint before visiting.

Visitor guidelines continue, as outlined in Alert Level 3. These guidelines are available on our website here.

We would like to thank the public for their patience and support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
