Cervical Screening

For an overview of cervical screening rates in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region, please view this regional map.

Guideslines for Pap testing have changed. Please speak to your health care provider for more information.

Who should have a Pap Test? All women who are or ever have been sexually active. You should continue to have a Pap Test even if you are no longer having a menstrual cycle or if you are no longer sexually active.

With regular screening, cervical cancer is an almost an entirely preventable disease.

Labrador-Grenfell Health is a part of the Provincial Cervical Screening Initiatives Program, working as a team with all physicians and health care providers to remind women of the importance of regular screening.

A simple test can save your life. Take care of your health. Do not delay - contact your local health care provider to book your Pap Test today.

For more information on cervical cancer, call Labrador-Grenfell Health's Regional Cervical Screening Initiatives Office at (709) 897-3109/3113 or contact the Provincial Cervical Screening Initiatives Office toll-free at 1-866-643-8719.
