The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital

Located in St. Anthony, the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited 50-bed facility. It provides acute care and community health services for the people of the Northern Peninsula and Labrador, and consultant medical services to a large number of residents of the Quebec Lower North Shore.

The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital offers medical specialty services, including sub-specialties such as anaesthesia, dentistry, family practice, including nurse practitioner, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pathology, pediatrics, radiology, urology and psychiatry. Increasingly, medical and hospital services are provided on an outpatient/ambulatory basis. These include, but are not limited to, Oncology/Chemotherapy Services, Mental Health Programs and Day Surgery Services.

A wide variety of support, diagnostic, community, therapeutic and rehabilitation health services are also based within Curtis Hospital, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, pediatric Rainbow Clinic, EEG/ECG, laboratory and diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, clinical nutrition, diabetes education, genetics research, social work, addictions and psychology.

Other community health services, such as Community Health Nursing, Primary Health Care, Speech Language Pathology, Health Promotion and Education, Medical Officer of Health, Community Nutrition, Youth Services Programming, Environmental Health, Dental Clinics, and Child, Youth and Family Services, are offered from additional sites in St. Anthony.

The John M. Gray Centre, a 48-bed long-term care facility, is adjoined to Curtis Hospital.

The Rotunda, just inside the main entrance of the hospital, houses the Jordi Bonet Murals, which depict life in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador.
